The Five Reiki Principles
The Reiki Principles that were created by Mikao Usui capture the spirit in which Reiki is given. They also serve as a guideline for Reiki Practitioners in their daily lives.
Just for today, do not worry. Just for today, do not anger. Just for today, count life's blessings. Just for today, live honestly. Just for today, be kind to all living things.

The Lineage of Reiki
The original System of Reiki was passed from its founder Mikao Usui to Chujiro Hayashi and then to Hawayo Takata. From there, it has been passed down over the years through the Reiki element known as REIJU (ATTUNEMENT) which is performed by a certified Reiki Master on a student of Reiki. A Reiki Practitioner trained in the traditional system of Reiki is able to trace the Reiju lineage back through the years to Mikao Usui.
Certification in Reiki
Upon the completion of any degree in Reiki training, an individual receives CERTIFICATION in the form of a CERTIFICATE which indicates the DEGREE of Reiki achieved, the name of the REIKI MASTER with whom the Reiki training was done, and the CITY and DATE on which the Reiki training was completed.
Styles of Reiki
Currently, there are over 70 different styles of Reiki being practiced in the world. Every certified Reiki Practitioner should be able to trace his/her training back to the founder of the particular style of Reiki in which he/she is certified.
